Animatic & Feedback

Feedback of our animatic video from peers:

WWW:

  • Storyline was clear, and obvious to see what genre it is

EBI:

  • If some of the scene drawings were drawn clearer as it was sometimes hard to recognise what was going on in certain scenes
  • We used more varied shot types

Breakdown Sheet 3

BREAKDOWN SHEET FOR SHOOTING

Storyboard scene number:  8
Date:     12/11/14                                                                    Time: 3/4
Setting:                  Park                                                              Location: Brockwell Park

Crew members and roles:  Ashleigh – Cameraman, Joyce – Director, Chantelle - Director

Cast members: ‘Alicia’ – Chantelle

Extras: passers by in the park

Wardrobe: casual

Make-up: minimal and simple

Props:  newspaper or phone

Special effects: none

Potential problems and how you’re going to overcome them: a potential problem we could face is chantelle being unable to make the shoot. To overcome this we would film another scene that doesn’t require chantelle’s presence so that we have footage. Another potential problem is the weather, if it rains for example we wont be able to film material, as ‘Alicia’ has to sit down in the scene. To overcome this we would check the weather in advance and make sure we plan according to the weather.

Music Video Pitch

Here are images of the music video pitch my group and I put together:

After presenting our pitch to our peers, we received critical feedback. One point being that we should confirm who is going to play the roles needed for our music video in order to manage our time better and avoid people not being able to commit. Also, we should make sure our locations are able to actually be filmed at, and that they are as realistic as possible.

We received positive comments such as our costume being good conventions of many R&B music videos of the sort we chose as the makeup nicely matches the mood of the song we have chosen.

Dear Copyright Holder

I am an A level student and I am writing this letter to ask for your permission to use a song for my music video which I will be creating for my practical work in Media Studies. The song that I will be using for my project will be Alicia Keys, 'You Don't Know My Name'.

I can assure you that the music video will only be shown to my Media Studies class, my teacher and the OCR exam board. Your company and the artist herself will have an opportunity to view the final video if you wish.

If possible, could you please send me a written copyright notice to be included in my coursework portfolio?

Yours faithfully,

Ashleigh Jones
